GRADE 3

Welcome back to all our students and families for Term 2. I can’t believe that we are already into week 4 of this term. A lot is happening in Grade 3 classroom across different learning areas.

In Literacy, we are learning about Exposition/ Persuasive Writing. The students are quitely confident with the structure and language features and are able to create decent persuasive texts. Apart from this we are also learning about adverbs, adjectives and verbs in our grammar sessions.

In Numeracy, the students are learning about multiplication and division, so they have been learning timetables. They have also been learning amount money to work out the change from a given amount, using the count-on method.

In Integrated Studies, we covered the various natural features of Australia like the rivers, lakes, mountains and deserts. We are also learning about the neighboring countries and their location in respect to Australia. The students love their Geography sessions and are finding them very exciting.

We celebrated ANZAC Day at our school in week 2. On Friday, 27th April, we had a visitor from RSL to talk about ANZAC Day. The students had a chance to interact with an ex-soldier and ask questions. Ghayth Ajel and Hamza Al-Zubaidi participated in the Sirius College, ANZAC Day assembly from Grade 3, and they spoke about ‘The Last Post’.
